Tau protein hyperphosphorylation in children with cerebral palsy with sleep disorders

Aims: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between sleep disorder and serum tau protein levels in children with cerebral palsy.
 Methods: The sample was selected among aged 6-10 years who applied our physical medicine rehabilitation outpatient clinic. order quality, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire recorded by asking parents of all participants. Children CP had a value above 5 were determined as group. We recruited 27 disorders first patient group (Group 1), but without second 2). third 3), which healthy group, included any disease. also age at diagnosis, risk factors for (premature, prolonged birth, etc.), type, gross motor function classification system (GMFCS), botox application, orthoses usage, maternal additional problems. measured total (T-tau) phosphorylated (P-tau) blood samples through double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). correlation PSQI values examined.
 Results: Maternal (p=0.001), (GMFCS) pittsburgh quality index (p=0.001) significantly higher disorders. There statistically significant difference groups terms T-Tau P-tau (T-tau p=0.003, p=0.004). disorders, correlated T-tau (r=0.499) (r=0.473).
